POLICY DOCUMENT ON ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY USAGE
The Environment and Energy usage Policy of Fazl Ali College Mokokchung, Nagaland focuses on energy usage in a systematic manner so that it reduces harmful effects on the environment. Practicability about environment and efficiency are part of daily routine of the college fraternity. We are responsible and dedicated to the cause of cleaner resource promotion and conservation. The ECO Club, NSS, NCC, Beautification Committee, etc of the college are committed to the promotion of awareness on the protection of the environment, to minimize energy usage, to undertake green campus initiatives, to conduct green literacy programmes to save energy and for the protection of the environment.
The policy is binding for all the members of the institution and applies to its stakeholders towards various activities organised/initiated by the college. This will positively guide us to set-in competence and environmental awareness through out day-to-day activities. Whereby it will serve us to ascertain our responsibilities and dedicate to conservation of natural resources and to limit its usage.
Policies:
- To assess our energy usage and measure to limit the impact and depletion of natural resources.
- To install LED lighting systems in the campus to reduce and save energy usage.
- To develop an efficient and systematic waste management mechanism.
- To tap rain and develop rainwater harvesting by constructing rainwater harvesting pits and units.
- To harness solar energy.
- Tree plantation programmes in the campus in association with government local bodies.
- To focus on renewable resources of energy.
- To ensure the availability of necessary resources to achieve our objectives.
- To consult and engage with the government agencies, municipal council and the affiliating university and actively work with the civil society organizations in the areas of environment, energy efficiency and sustainable development.
- To provide information and training opportunities on energy saving measures.
- To encourage and train our students, faculties and employees through our ECO Club, Beautification Committee, NSS, etc to make them Go Green.
- To train our students and staff to become efficient in matters of energy usage and environment protection.
- To monitor and respond to emerging environmental and energy issues. To strengthen our employees and students environmental knowledge and skills in order to improve our own environmental responsibility.
- To create awareness in the local community about efficient energy usage, environment protection and sustainable development.
This institution POLICY DOCUMENT ON ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY USAGE is disseminated to the students, faculty and staff, and also made available to all the concerned stakeholders which is displayed in the institutional website. The Policy’s objectives and targets will be regulated and reviewed on a regular basis by the ECO Club and Beautification Committee under the guidance of the Principal of the college.
